“Who’s Feeding These People!?” was a presentation I did for the New York organization Nerd Nite, where local experts can give small lectures on niche topics. It’s about Medieval military provisioning logistics, which admittedly sounds pretty dry. I think Economic History is exciting though because it’s about the plight of everyday people. Huge awe-inspiring armies stretching to the horizon look cool, but in reality those soldiers were just worried about what they were going to eat or where they’d sleep. The presentation is a small attempt to share some of those unconsidered details.
